Defense verdict in favor of United Property & Casualty Insurance Company
The case involved two claims: Hurricane Matthew and a pool plumbing leak. The Plaintiff argued for extensive damage caused by each incident and their combination. The carrier covered some damages but excluded others. We successfully defended the carrier, stating no additional payments were owed under the insurance contract.
Case dismissed before jury selection commenced
On the same day that it was called to trial in Brevard County, we were called to trial in Collier County in a case involving a roofing contractor that obtained an assignment of benefits for a late reported Hurricane Irma claim. After preparing the case for trial and standing firm on First Protective Insurance Company's position in the case that no payments were owed, we appeared in Collier County ready to defend the case. Counsel for Plaintiff, however, dismissed the case ore tenus before jury selection commenced.
